Flip the Switch to A Better Day
you want to walk around angry, frustrated and irritable all day, be sure to turn on cable news first thing in the morning. They know just how to flip the switch of our emotions and activate that part of the brain that seeks survival. When our brains senses danger it releases stress hormones. Sounds inviting doesn't it?
Want to know a secret?
You have the ability to influence the chemicals your brain releases. Your choices, what you eat & drink, how active you are, your thoughts and mindset they all matter.
You can choose what kind of day you want, as if there were a menu in front of you. Would you like to have a calm day filled with energy, and focus, that leads to a productive day? It all starts with a the right balance of nutrition and exercise and the habits you practice.
Let it sink in a bit because this is powerful, your choices influence the kind of day you have.
Switch on the happy
If you really want to release the happy chemicals in your brain adopt an attitude of gratitude. It takes you from focusing on what is going wrong to what is going right!
Here's how to get started
Find a notebook and when you get up each day take a few minutes to list 3 things that you are grateful for, just 3. When you first start it might be challenging. The more you focus on gratitude the more things you will notice. It can also work wonders for improving relationships, to see the best in your spouse, friends, boss.
What do you have to lose? Wouldn't you like a more joyful satisfying life, better relationships? Every day search for and uncover the best in life and the positive attributes in the people around you.
I am grateful to see the colors of Autumn
I am thankful for the energy to get out of bed,
My husband is hard working
My child is smart, loving, kind hearted
Gratitude is contagious, it does take practice though give it a month and see what you notice.
