"Life's too short to leave your goals and dreams to chance, take yourself off of auto-pilot".
My clients are the most creative, spontaneous, adventurous, and energetic people I've ever met. They give my life meaning and purpose.
My story
My name is Karen Wise, I live in the panhandle of West Virginia. I’m a mother of two as well as a grandmother of five. ADHD has touch my life through family, friends and clients. I have witnessed firsthand the devastating effects that undiagnosed, unmanaged ADHD can have on people, challenges that range in degree from low self-esteem, to more serious consequences like addictions that tear families apart. As a certified Life & ADHD Coach. I’ve been helping people over the past seven years to break free from their self-limiting beliefs and habits like procrastination, impulsivity, and overwhelm, helping them to recognize their strengths, so that they are more successful at being productive, organized, and in control of their lives.
A passion was born.
It wasn’t until a year and a half ago that I made the connection between these challenges and ADHD, when I was hired by a client who knew she had ADHD. My extensive training as a solution-focused life-coach created a significant advantage, although; I was determined to learn all that I could about the disorder, so I began devouring books on the subject, attending classes, conferences, webinars and week-long summits hosted by leading experts. I began to realize just how complex ADHD is, and how important it is for people to have a better understanding of the disorder so that they can reach their full potential.
My mission
The more I learn and discover about ADHD the more I want to share. Statistics show that kids who reach their teen years with undiagnosed, unmanaged ADHD turn to risky behaviors, and to self-medicate to cope with symptoms. I volunteer at a local women’s recovery center; my small discussion groups are filled with young women with ADHD. My mission is to partner with parents and teachers to help kids who have ADHD flourish and hopefully avoid such negative consequences. I want to help dissolve the stigma around ADHD and other neurological disorders.
My style of coaching
I am profoundly influenced by neuroscience, theories of positive psychology, appreciative inquiry, and solution-focused coaching models. My clients learn from the inside-out, re-calibrating their thought processes to increase their self-management and awareness. Anticipate being challenged to stretch yourself and be accountable for your progress.
