Powerful Tools for Change
If you have a visual of what you want, it is like setting out a target, you know what you are aiming for.
I have been learning to play golf, and earlier this summer I had been itching to get out and practice. We have a pretty big yard so I was out hitting golf balls in the yard not really aiming at anything, it was fun, but not much of a challenge.
My husband, Dave who enjoys golf, saw my interest and set up a pole with a flag on it off into the distance. I couldn't believe how much more fun it was to aim at something. The addition of a challenge really made my determination kick in. The practice was more fun and it really accelerated my development, I quickly began to notice my progress.
No matter what you want to call them target, goals, aims they are powerful tools for change. This was a good reminder at least for me of how important it is to take time to get a visual of what I am trying to accomplish. How a simple target in the yard made all the difference.
